Key Responsibilities

You are passionate about scalable storage platforms, distributed systems, and cloud-native technologies? Object Storage and Ceph are not just technologies you work with—they are technologies you truly understand and enjoy developing further? You like solving complex infrastructure challenges, automating operations, and building highly available platforms that customers can rely on?.

💼 Your mission – or, in other words: your tasks

  • You design, implement, operate, and continuously improve highly available Object Storage platforms based on Ceph.
  • You take ownership of the administration, monitoring, maintenance, and optimization of large-scale distributed storage environments.
  • You ensure platform stability, performance, scalability, and security across our data center infrastructures.
  • You analyze customer requirements and develop sustainable storage architectures for modern enterprise workloads.
  • You automate operational and deployment processes to increase efficiency, reliability, and service quality.
  • You perform capacity planning, performance analysis, and proactive optimization of storage environments.
  • You troubleshoot complex technical issues and act as an escalation point for advanced storage-related incidents.
  • You contribute to the development of technical concepts, standards, and best practices for our storage services.
  • You create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and knowledge base articles.
  • You stay up to date with developments in Software-Defined Storage, Ceph, Object Storage, and cloud-native technologies and actively bring new ideas into our platform strategy.

Skills

🧠 What you bring to the table – besides the desire to make a difference

  • You have completed a degree or vocational training in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a comparable field.
  • You have several years of hands-on experience operating and administering enterprise storage environments.
  • You possess strong expertise in Ceph, Object Storage technologies (S3-compatible platforms), and distributed storage architectures.
  • You have experience with Linux-based systems and feel comfortable working in enterprise-scale environments.
  • You understand concepts such as replication, erasure coding, high availability, disaster recovery, and storage performance optimization.
  • You have experience with automation and infrastructure management tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or similar technologies.
  • Knowledge of Kubernetes, container platforms, or cloud-native ecosystems is considered a strong advantage.
  • You enjoy analyzing complex technical challenges and finding sustainable, pragmatic solutions.
  • You work independently, take ownership of your responsibilities, and contribute actively within a collaborative team environment.
  • You have a strong customer and service mindset and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • You are fluent in English, both written and spoken; German language skills are a plus.
