Key Responsibilities

  • Installation, configuration maintenance and development of monitoring solutions
  • Configuration of monitoring and alerting items and thresholds according to standard rulesets and operation teams requirements
  • Definition, test, development and implementation of monitoring templates and scripts for new monitoring functionalities in Bash, Python, PowerShell
  • Development of scripts and pipelines to automate configuration and update of monitoring items and systems in Bash, Python, PowerShell or Ansible
  • Support infrastructure teams in the design and selection of monitoring solutions and functionality
  • Support infrastructure teams in troubleshooting and debugging alerts and errors generated by the monitoring systems.
  • Using existing configuration management solutions such as MECM/SCCM, Puppet or Ansible to automate infrastructure, servers and monitoring applications
  • Creation and using DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., with GitLab)
  • Contributing to your own ideas, exploring new technologies, and enhance and improve our existing automation solution

Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a comparable qualification
  • Several years of experience in the field of monitoring, IT automation and/or IT operations
  • Experience with IT automation technologies such as: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) or comparable solutions
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery/deployment using GitLab or comparable DevOps tools
  • Practical knowledge of programming and scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, Golang, Bash or others
  • Experience in server administration (Windows and/or Linux)
  • Good knowledge in Data transformation and visualization (e.g., with Grafana, Python)
  • Experience in operation and design of open source data management systems such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, ElasticSearch, Kafka, Cassandra
  • Experience with monitoring platforms such as Zabbix, Icinga, Prometheus or PRTG
  • Analytical thinking, a systematic, independent, and responsible working approach
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Business fluent in English, both written and spoken
  • German language skills are an advantage
